Akelius has sold 15 commercial properties in Sweden. The properties are located around the country with emphasis on Eskilstuna, Skövde and Östersund.

The price of the properties – containing both office and retail properties – equals a property value of MSEK 557 (€58 M). The buyer is yet unknown.

“They will announce it themselves” Akelius CEO Pål Ahlsén tells Nordic Property News.

The divestment is a natural part of Akelius development towards a pure housing company.

“The most recent deals are pretty significant to our development. We have divested commercial properties in Sweden and purchased housing properties in Montreal, Toronto, New York, London and Berlin.

Akelius now has a remaining 200,000 sqm of commercial properties in Sweden.

Are they also about to be sold?
“Well, a fairly large part of that are spaces connected to our apartments that we will keep.”

The largest of Akelius’ foreign deals this summer is the acquisition of six properties – 378 apartments – in New York for MSEK 1,022 (€107 M).
