Espoo’s Housing Production Reaches a New High

Finland — Espoo’s housing production goal was surpassed in 2017 both for new construction started and apartments completed. Housing production goals are also expected to be surpassed this year.

Last year, the construction of 4,095 new apartments was started in Espoo. This is more than 500 apartments more than during the previous year. 3,270 new apartments were completed.
The construction of 1,170 new rental apartments was started, nearly half of which were state-subsidised ARA apartments. The construction of 170 right-of-occupancy apartments was also started.

1,220 rental apartments and 155 right-of-occupancy apartments were completed. 42 percent of the completed rental apartments were ARA apartments.
