Moves Headquarters to Helsinki
The technology group Wärtsilä has signed a long-term lease with Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company to relocate its headquarter operations to the Salmisaari district of Helsinki.
“Moving into new premises provides us an opportunity to develop our corporate culture and our daily work. It's perfectly in line with Wärtsilä's growth strategy and our goal to enable sustainable societies with smart technology,” says Jaakko Eskola, President and CEO of Wärtsilä.
Before moving in, the premises located in the address Hiililaiturinkuja 2 and currently occupied by Danske Bank, will be remodelled together with Wärtsilä personnel and an external consultant. Built in 2009, the office complex in Salmisaari has a Breeam Very Good environmental rating and it invests in utilising renewable energy sources e.g. through installation of solar panels on the roof and enhancing the parking facilities with spaces equipped for electric cars.
