Behind the project is Folkehallene IKS, an intermunicipal company owned by Stavanger, Sola, Sandnes and Randaberg municipality. Construction starts in June 2018 and will be finished at the end of 2019/beginning of 2020.
 
The project is named Sola Arena and is developed in cooperation with Trollvegg Arkitektstudio. The arena will also have its own gym and facilities for handball, volleyball, badminton and floorball.
