On May 9th, SRV and Supercell signed the final agreementfor the purchase of an office building and car park in Wood City. Construction work will begin with excavation and earthworks, and preparatory work will commence immediately. The contract will be entered in SRV’s order books for thesecond quarter. The final sale price will not be published. 

“Wood City will bea unique wooden quarter, which is centrally located in Helsinki and combinesdesign, sustainable development, urban community and good transport links. Theagreement now signed with Supercell gives the project the expected ‘go-ahead’and the construction of office buildings will also move into full swing,” says SRV’s Juha Toimela, Director of Operations in Finland. 

The wooden quarter willconsist of an eight-storey office building, a hotel, two apartment buildingsowned by Helsingin Asuntotuotantotoimisto (ATT), and a shared three-storey parking facility. 

”We wanted a permanent home for Supercell in Helsinki, a place where we can make games for decades to come. Wood City provides us with a unique opportunity to design the perfect premises to suit us and our culture. Our goal is to make these premises and surroundings into the best possible place to create games,” says Supercell’s CEO, Ilkka Paananen. 

Intense investorand operator negotiations are still ongoing for the hotel planned for the WoodCity quarter. The construction of ATT’s apartment buildings began at the turn of 2015–2016, and they are scheduled for completion in late 2018. According tocurrent estimates, the Wood City quarter is scheduled for completion in stagesduring 2020. The total value of the Wood City quarter is about EUR 100M.
