The volume of Finland’s largest logistics centre is equivalent to 30 times that of Parliament House in Helsinki. The total area of the logistics centre extension is approximately 19,000 gross square metres and the volume is nearly 221,000 gross cubic metres.

“The Sipoo logistics centre has been S Group’s most significant investment in recent years, and the coming project continues the development of the area. We are pleased to be able to launch this project with expert partners. We expect the project to advance smoothly and to be completed for Inex Partners’ use in summer 2020,” says Pasi Suutari, SOK’s Vice-President (Real Estate).

SRV has previously implemented for SOK the Torni Hotel Tampere, which opened in 2014. SRV also has experience of implementing several logistics projects for operators in the retail and wholesale trade.

“It’s a pleasure to have the opportunity to continue our excellent customer relationship with SOK’s professional real-estate development organisation. In the project, we will utilise our strong expertise in the implementation of logistics and daily consumer goods facilities, and SRV’s project management contract model is highly suited to this contract,” says Saku Kosonen, SRV’s Unit Director.

The extension will be used in daily consumer goods logistics. The premises will be temperature-regulated and the building integrated with the present logistics centre.

“Growth in the S Group’s daily consumer goods sales means more premises are needed for increased delivery volumes. The additional premises to be constructed will include dispatch area, terminal handling and warehouse premises,” says Inex Partners’ CEO, Jari Pousi.
