Veidekke has been commissioned by Nesgata 19 utvikling AS (OBOS Nye Hjem AS and Otto Olsen Boligutvikling AS) to construct 206 apartments plus parking facilities as part of the first of five construction stages in the Kvarteret project in central Lillestrøm. This is a design and build construction contract valued at NOK 425 million, excluding VAT.
The first part of the development comprises four free-standing properties of five to eight floors above ground with 206 apartments encircling a communal park for the residents. A lift to all residential floors will run from the underground parking facilities. Kvarteret will be car-free, with landscaped areas and a feature of greenery running towards the residential neighbourhood to the east. The apartments will be constructed to a high standard with efficient and contemporary floor plans and large balconies with excellent lighting and sun conditions.

Kvarteret is situated on the southern side of Lillestrøm and has been known as an area with minor industry and residential neighbourhoods for a number of years. This is now changing, thanks to the development project, in which large sections will be redeveloped from the ground up. Residents will be within walking distance of almost everything that is on offer, including shops, eateries, cultural facilities and public transport, with Oslo Central Station and Gardermoen only 10-14 minutes away by train.
The construction work commences in October, with completion scheduled for winter 2022/2023.
The contract is included in Veidekke’s order book for Q2 2020.
