Outside Malmö, in the Municipality of Burlöv, Logistics Position Sunnanå is situated in the optimum location, with a direct exit onto main road 11 and just 300 metres to the exit from the E6/E20 motorway. The area has rapidly become established as a central logistics hub for Scandinavian cargo flows. Since 2016, Catena has constructed some 80,000 m2 of logistics space at the site, including for DHL, which has chosen to locate terminal operations here.
With the new detailed development plan, Catena can offer an additional 110,000 m2 of land in a prime signage location right next to the motorway. Catena holds building rights here and intends to construct an additional approximately 55,000 m2 of efficient and sustainable logistics facilities. Catena will environmentally certify the facilities with the ambition of creating near-zero energy buildings, with a holistic approach being applied to all parts of the process to identify durable solutions.
“For discerning logistics players, Logistics Position Sunnanå is an obvious choice. We are experiencing substantial demand and are now looking forward very much to getting started with the continued development of the area to be able to welcome even more stakeholders,” says Fredrik Renå, Regional Manager, Malmö at Catena.
Catena set ambitious demands on architectural design and perceives substantial opportunities in identifying modern, intelligent solutions to make the new facilities at Logistics Position Sunnanå both attractive and well thought-out.
“In our view, a logistics facility is not only there to handle goods and cargo, it is also a workplace in which people should thrive,” says Fredrik Renå.
