The acquired property, Vrams Gunnarstorp 1:15 in the Municipality of Bjuv, occupies an excellent logistics location adjacent to the E4 motorway and with quick access to the E6 motorway. The acquisition facilitates construction of sustainable and efficient logistics facilities with an estimated lettable area of slightly more than 240,000 m2 for an investment of approximately SEK 2 billion in the longer term. The plot concerned is located close to the southern industrial site in the Municipality of Åstorp, just across the municipal boundary. Seafrigo already maintains operations there at a logistics facility built by Catena on the Broby 57:5 property in 2021.

“With the acquisition, Catena will be able to attract additional successful and growing companies seeking to operate in the area. We are experiencing strong demand for logistics space in strategic locations. Although this reflects society’s changing purchasing behaviour and goods flows, it is also a result of players in logistics and trade working hard to optimise their processes to be able to offer customised, fast and climate-intelligent deliveries,” says Catena’s CEO Jörgen Eriksson.

“We take a positive view of Catena’s acquisition and the opportunities this can generate for the local business community,” comments Mikael Henrysson, Chairman of the Municipal Board in Bjuv.

The planning process for the acquired property will commence soon and is expected to last for 12-24 months. The north-western parts of Skåne are interesting from a logistics perspective – a large population base and proximity to major transport routes are crucial in securing efficient freight flows.
