Volvo Truck Center is a new, top modern workshop facility built for the future and located in Gothenburg. It will be the largest facility of its kind for Volvo Lastvagnar Sverige AB. The facility will contain an office building and warehouse connected by three halls. These will be equipped with the latest workshop technology and specially constructed to service vehicles in the future. The building will be 142 meters long and 90 meters wide with a total area of 12,000 m2. In addition to the workshop and spare parts warehouse Peab will build a cafeteria, staff rooms and offices for both Volvo Truck Center and Volvo Lastvagnar’s Swedish marketing company.
“Peab is very pleased to once again participate in preparing the company for the future now that Volvo Lastvagnar Sverige AB is developing its operations in Gothenburg. The workshop facility contains several special solutions where our broad expertise in hall and office construction will be particularly useful,” says Stellan Haraldsson, Region Manager Peab.
“We’re both really pleased and proud to be able to make this investment in Gothenburg together with Peab and create a state-of-the-art service facility for both trucks and busses that will function well for many years to come. We’ll be able to provide full service to all types of vehicles, regardless of whether they run on diesel, HVO, gas or electricity,” says Stefan Strand, MD Volvo Lastvagnar Sverige AB and Volvo Truck Center.
The project is a turnkey contract in expanded collaboration/partnering and construction will begin immediately. The first stage is expected to be completed during the first quarter 2024 and the second stage in the first quarter 2025.
The project will be order registered in the first quarter 2022.
