Two years ago, Logicenters acquired a land area of 160,000 square meters in the Danish logistics park Skandinavisk Transport Center in Køge, south of Copenhagen.
The logistics real estate operator plans to develop facilities totaling 68,000 square meters in the park, which are now beginning to be filled with future tenants.
A long-term lease has been signed between Logicenters and the Dutch company Bedrocan to rent 13,000 square meters in Egedesvej C. The initial plan is that occupancy will take place on May 1, 2023.
"We are very pleased to end the year by entering into a long-term agreement with Bedrocan. Our state-of-the-art and sustainable logistics facility will certainly meet Bedrocan's need to streamline their logistics operations in the Danish market. We look forward to welcoming our new tenants in the spring," says Thomas Petersen, Commercial Managers at Logicenters.
Bedrocan is the world's most experienced producer of medical cannabis. Their high-quality cannabis is used worldwide by patients, drug developers and researchers. They operate two indoor growing facilities in the Netherlands and now one in Denmark (Køge). Bedrocan is not involved in the production of cannabis for recreational use.
"With two decades of experience in manufacturing medical cannabis of pharmaceutical quality, we look forward to further developing our business in the Nordics. Logicenter's logistics facility gave us the perfect opportunity to expand our business and we really look forward to our collaboration in the coming years," says Jaap Erkelens, CEO at Bedrocan.
Skandinavisk Transport Center offers geographical advantages with proximity to European roads E20, E55 and E47. Køge is also close to Copenhagen and Køge Harbour. Other players in the area are Lidl, Netto, Bring and Movianto.
