It is an extremely seasoned business profile within mainly Swedish grocery retail who now takes over the chairman's baton on the board of Svenska Handelsfastigheter. In February earlier this year, Thomas Evertsson left the position as CEO of the Willys food chain, which he navigated with great success for almost 16 years. Under his leadership, the chain established nearly 100 new stores and more than doubled turnover in what is the growth engine of the entire grocery group Axfood. Prior to that, he was also CEO and Deputy CEO of Coop Sweden for almost five years.

In connection with his leaving Willys, Thomas Evertsson took the step into Svenska Handelsfastigheter's board and during Thursday the chairman's baton was handed over by his representative Patrick Forslund.

"I have had a relationship with Svenska Handelsfastigheter for several years and have always been attracted by the company and the management's ability to combine business acumen and, in cooperation with the tenant, to achieve long-term development for both trading locations and local communities. It is very honorable to now be a part of the machinery that will lead the company forward," says Thomas Evertsson, who previously also sits on the boards of City Gross and Jula.

"Thanks to Thomas' solid experience and competence, he will contribute with completely unique insights that will help us to jointly chart the path towards a very exciting future," says Thomas Holm, CEO of Svenska Handelsfastigheter.
