"It always gives me great pleasure to announce internal promotions to leadership roles, which is the reward for a track record of excellent work on behalf of the firm. Karl and Marie are experienced professionals, very well respected by colleagues and clients alike, and are extremely motivated to develop our business further in the region,” says Colin Wilson, CEO, EMEA.

Karl Persson becomes Head of Sweden, succeeding Agneta Jacobsson who it was announced last month would be standing down after 25 years with the firm. Karl has extensive leadership experience within the industry and nearly 20 years of experience in real estate transactions, leasing and analysis. He joined Cushman & Wakefield's Swedish Capital Markets team in May 2017 with the aim of building a market-leading transaction team in Gothenburg. Karl will continue building the Swedish Capital Markets business together with Daniel Anderbring, who was recently named Head of Capital Markets in Sweden.

“I am thrilled to lead Cushman & Wakefield's continued development in Sweden together with Marie and our talented employees. We have every opportunity to further strengthen our clients’ businesses. Taking the CEO role in Sweden, combined with a stronger business focus on transactional activity both in Stockholm and the rest of the country is also very exciting for me personally,” says Karl Persson.

Marie Cronström becomes Deputy Head of Sweden and Chief Operating Officer. Cronström will also continue to lead the Occupier Services team, which under her leadership has become one of the strongest teams in the market. Since joining Cushman & Wakefield in August 2015, she has expanded the service offering to include workplace strategies and relocation project management. Marie has many years of experience in leadership and strategic work. She has worked with clients at a national, regional and global level and has a track record of building high-performing teams.

“I look forward to working with Karl to further strengthen our position in the marketplace and to ensure that we have the best teams to serve our clients. It’s with great pleasure that I continue my role as Head of Occupier Services alongside the new role as Deputy Head of Sweden and COO. Now we take the next step on the very exciting journey that we started with Agneta Jacobsson,” says Marie Cronström.
