“I look forward to starting at NCC in the autumn and getting to know the company and its projects. In the construction industry, purchasing is crucial for the end result, but in a somewhat different way than in a manufacturing company, and I look forward to being part of developing what NCC has defined as one of their strategic areas. I bring my experience in the project-specific bus industry and also many years at a major company and in an international environment,” says Johan Lindqvist, incoming Head of Purchasing at NCC.
Johan Lindqvist has worked in purchasing for 20 years, most recently as Head of Purchasing for Volvo Bus Corporation business unit in North America and Mexico, where he also resided in Canada for a number of years. Like the construction industry, the bus industry is dominated by customer projects that involve public procurements.
“NCC’s operations are characterized by thousands of projects, all of which have their unique needs for materials and services. The purchasing chain plays a major role here, and one of our most important tasks moving forward is efficiently integrating these flows in our operation. Johan Lindqvist brings experience as both a manager and a purchasing expert in conducting this work. I welcome him to NCC,” says Tomas Carlsson, President and CEO of NCC.
Johan Lindqvist will take up the position by November 2021 at the latest. Klaus Kaae, acting Head of Purchasing, will return to his role as senior adviser at that time.
