Peab has been commissioned to build three apartment buildings with a total of 46 apartments at Osebakken in Porsgrunn. The customer is Majorbygg and the contract is worth NOK 188 million.
Majorbygg, which is owned jointly by Peab Eiendomsutvikling and PBBL, has been developing the old industrial area and converting it into the residential area Osebakken Park. Now the time has come for the construction of three apartment buildings with a total of 46 apartments with the intention of Swan ecolabelling the buildings.
“This is a substantial and significant project for us. The buildings, construction materials and construction process will all meet stringent requirements for energy consumption, chemicals and quality. In addition, all the carpentry and the concrete work will be done by our own skilled craftsmen and trainees,” says Terje Kaasa Larsen, Region Manager Peab.
The other day, it was also announced that Peab has been commissioned to build a high school and vocational school in Tromsø. The customer is Troms og Finnmark County Municipality and the contract is worth NOK 418 million.
The project comprises building new school buildings and renovating existing ones for a total of 13,640 m2. The construction project also means bringing the high school and vocational school together at Ishavsbyen School. The total number of students will be around 1,000 with 250 staff members.
Environmental demands on the project are strict including clear cut emission level requirements on the newly constructed part as well as on the actual construction site and both solar panels and geothermal wells will be used in the project.
