The new business stream aims to establish a long-term portfolio of high-quality, climate-smart, and healthy office buildings in Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö. To clarify the expanded operations, which now include long-term ownership, Skanska Öresund will change name to Skanska Fastigheter Malmö.

Aqua has the highest LEED-certification, level Platinum, and certifies according to WELL. LEED is a global third-party certification for environmentally friendly design, construction, operation, and maintenance. WELL is based on medical and scientific research on healthy workplaces and how people are affected by the built environment.

Aqua is one of several office properties that Skanska has developed at Universitetsholmen in Malmö. Next door to Aqua is Skanska's office project Oas, which is under construction and will be completed during spring 2024.
