Through an internal Ikea-deal the new Ikea Centres is formed:

Ikea Group purchases the remaining 51 percent of Inter Ikea Centre Group from Ikea Group and forms the new Ikea Centres.

Ikea Centres consists of 45 shopping malls in Europe, China and Russia and an investment program is currently underway where a total of approximately SEK 30 billion (€3,140 M) is devoted to the construction of 20 new shopping malls, according to Dagens Industri.

The shopping malls around the Nordic Ikea department stores are run mainly by Ikano Retail Centres, owned by Ikea Group and Ikano, which is owned by the Kamprad family.

- I cannot currently comment on how this will affect us. There are ongoing discussions and in the meantime we continue our work as usual, Jan Kristensson, CEO at Ikano Retail Centres tells Nordic Property News.
