Fredriksberg is part of downtown Helsinki in the Konepaja area which is considered to be a nationally significant industrial and cultural environment.

“A new kind of urban concentration is emerging in the area and it is great that MTV will be at its core, close to the people. It is important for us to take into account the diverse needs of staff and partners during the construction phase, whilst carefully considering environmental sustainability, and we look forward to building a new home for the company together. This will be an iconic meeting place and a home for entertainment, experiences and news,” says CEO Johannes Leppänen from MTV.

“We are excited that MTV chose one of Helsinki's trendiest and fastest developing urban areas as the location for their new head office. MTV will bring new activity and creative urban culture to the area to the benefit of all who work, visit and live there,” says Yirui Jiang, head of Development and Project Management, NCC Property Development Finland.

“With the start of the fourth and final phase of the Fredriksberg project, NCC will increase attractiveness of the Konepaja area. We have in total developed 30,000 square meters of office and commercial premises in a sustainable way and created a modern urban space in downtown Helsinki,” says Petri Bergström, head of NCC Property Development Finland.

NCC is developing the Fredriksberg office project in four phases where the first three buildings are already completed and sold. Fredriksberg D will be certified in accordance with the international environmental certification system BREEAM and the aim is to reach the Excellent level.

Construction start of building D is scheduled for the third quarter 2020 and is expected to be completed in summer 2022. With the MTV lease the leasing rate is approximately 70 percent of the lettable area. The construction contract will be registered in orders in NCC Building Nordics in the third quarter of 2020.
