Dælenenga multipurpose hall will have approximately 6,100 sqm over four floors, including a full-scale sports hall with grandstands, changing rooms, offices and an entire floor for combat sports. The hall is located in the same place where the existing clubhouse stands today, and demolition of the old clubhouse is part of the commission. The multipurpose hall is planned to primarily be used by the school during the day and for sports purposes in the evening.
“We look forward to embarking on this exciting project for Oslobygg. Sustainable solutions in all phases of a construction project are fully in line with Seby's environmental ambitions. It is also motivating to build a socially beneficial building that has been long-awaited by Grünerløkka's residents,” says Bjørn Ove Liavaag, General Manager of Seby AS.
Greenhouse gas emissions from the new building will be reduced by 50 percent compared to a reference project. This will be a fossil-free building site where district heating is also used as an energy source during the construction phase and the building is being constructed to passive building standard with solar cells on the roof.
The project will comply with the strict requirements adopted by the City of Oslo to ensure the use of apprentices and to combat work-related crime and social dumping. Construction is scheduled to start in November 2021 with completion scheduled for December 2023.
