“I am pleased to welcome Grete Aspelund to NCC. She is a recognized good and appreciated leader who has delivered strong commercial results in her previous roles. Our industrial operation is a solid but complex business that has great potential for further development in the future,” says Tomas Carlsson, President and CEO of NCC and continues:
“Ylva Lagesson initiated a necessary change process in the business area in 2020. This process needs to continue and Ylva has concluded that she prefers to work in a more operational role and to achieve clear changes there. I see it as a great strength for NCC as a company that we have managers who can switch between roles and contribute where their skills are needed the most,” says Tomas Carlsson.
Grete Aspelund has been President of Sweco Norway since 2016. She is based in Oslo and has previously been CEO of Nemko AS, a testing, inspection and certification company, and for Ramböll Management Norway.
The Industry business area is one of NCC’s five business areas. The business area develops, produces and sells sustainable stone material and asphalt products for construction and infrastructure projects in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. The business area had sales of approximately SEK 10.8 billion in 2021 and about 2,800 employees.
“I look forward to getting to know the entire Nordic business and market. I am familiar with the area after many years working in engineering and architecture consulting companies, even though this is a new industry to me and there is a lot to learn. I know that the business has a strong knowledge base and a leading sustainability profile and I look forward to contributing to its continued development,” says Grete Aspelund.
“Working in a project-based and operational role is what I am passionate about and enjoy. I will now continue to implement the change process we have initiated to make the asphalt operations even stronger,” says Ylva Lagesson.
Ylva Lagesson will remain as Head of the Industry business area until Grete Aspelund joins the Group, which will be no later than November 1, 2022.
