Hästen 21 is located in the middle of Stockholm city at the intersection of Mäster Samuelsgatan and Regeringsgatan and is part of the Hästen quarter. Upon completion, the property will contain workplaces, housing and shops. Hästen 21 is part of Project Access, which is Pembroke's vision to - through new passages, restaurants and shops - transform one of Stockholm's most central neighborhoods into a more accessible and lively place, around the clock.
The property is designed with a focus on health and well-being and when it is completed, 2,000 people will have their workplaces here. The building also houses 27 efficiently planned homes and on the ground floor there will be up to 20 new retail premises. The facade will consist of light natural stone and glass where the architecture takes its cues
"Over the past year or so, we have worked closely together with Zengun, and we are now looking forward to the next step in our collaboration where Zengun will help us realize our vision. With a strategic location in the heart of the city, Hästen 21 sets a new standard for sustainability and design over time," says Kristin Willerström, Head of Nordics, Pembroke.
The building has ambitious environmental requirements and must be certified according to LEED Platinum v4, the highest environmental certification on the market. The ambition is to minimize the project's climate impact, from the demolition phase until the property is put into operation.
"We are proud and happy to be trusted to continue developing Stockholm together with Pembroke. We already had our first contact regarding Hästen 21 in 2018, so it feels good to now finally put the shovel in the ground. It's an exciting project in one of Stockholm's best locations," says Mick Salonen Högberg, President and CEO at Zengun.
Construction will start immediately and the project should be completed in 2026.
