"The Finnish housing market needs urgent support measures"

Inflation and rising interest rates have led to a precarious situation in the Finnish housing market, a situation that has lasted exceptionally long. The main drivers of the housing trade, i.e. interest rates, consumer confidence and employment, are not expected to change for the better in the near future. The industry therefore needs effective and rapid support measures to recover. This is the opinion of Jukka Rantanen, CEO of Finnish Sb-Hem, who proposes that the interest deduction for mortgages be reintroduced and that the transfer tax be abolished.
