Sweden Sweden — At an extra board meeting on July 17, Liseberg's board decided that the water park Oceana in Gothenburg should be rebuilt. Oceana, which suffered extensive damage in a fire in February this year, has been cleared and cleaned during the last quarter. With the board's decision made, a reconstruction is now possible, but the road to a finished project is not straight, and some issues remain to be investigated. NCC, which was in charge of the contract when the fire broke out, is given renewed confidence to rebuild Oceana.

The fire started at a water attraction on the outside of the building and later spread to the rest of the building. A person who worked for the amusement park Liseberg on the project is still missing. Niklas Sparw, business area manager NCC Building Sweden, comments to Nordic Property News what it was like to see the devastation in a project he has visited many times, at what stage the construction was and the hope that there are certain parts that can be saved.

NCC appoints two new Heads of Business Areas

Sweden Sweden — NCC has appointed new leaders for two business areas. Niklas Sparw will become new Head of NCC Building Sweden. He is currently division manager within NCC. Helena Hed will become Head of the new business area NCC Green Industry Transformation. She is currently CEO of the listed consulting group Projektengagemang. Both will join NCC’s Senior Management Team.
