Lehto Bygg builds Barents Center in Northern Sweden

Sweden — Concent has signed a complete construction contract with Finnish Lehto Bygg AB at a total order value of SEK 1 billion (€107,7M). The construction is in regards to Barents Center, the largest retail project to date in Northern Sweden.

The project consists of close to 70 stores, cafés and restaurants, a multi arena and Europe’s most modern high school. Avalanche Capital AB has signed a 25 year lease with Haparanda municipality for both the school and arena.

Lehto Bygg AB which is owned by Rakennusliike Lehto Oy has amongst other things built Ideapark in Uleåborg and Ikano-köpcenter in Kuopio.

– It is an important milestone for Barents Centers and Haparanda’s development. Barents Center will create hundreds of new jobs and will increase the activity in the region, says David Lehto, Project Leader at Concent AB.

Barents Center is drawn by Wester + Elsner and the grand opening is estimated to take place in September 2016.
