In 2008 Oljefonden decided to invest up to five percent of their capital in real estate. That limit is now increased to seven percent.

 Currently about three percent of the capital is invested in real estate. In connection to the change the way to calculate the allocation also changes.

The fund´s market value is around NOK 7,000 billion (€739 billion).

 “With the new regulations the range and direction of unlisted real estate investment will be decided by Norges Bank. It creates a clear division of labor and secures a overall control of the risk in the fund” says Minister of Finance Siv Jensen.
