During the development phase, the content and implementation of the alliance entity has been planned at a more detailed level and the total estimated cost of the first phase of the implementation phase has been set at approximately EUR 56 million, of which the share to be booked to YIT is approximately EUR 47 million. The contract will be included in the order book of the first quarter of the year.

Construction work will start in February 2024 and Kokkola Sports Park is scheduled for completion in spring 2026. The first phase, which is now starting, includes a multi-purpose hall for indoor sports and events, as well as an adjacent UEFA Category 2 football stadium.

The project also includes two other phases, of which the development phase of the second phase, which includes the construction of two training rinks, was launched at the end of September. The final, or third, phase involves the renovation of the old ice rink, with the development phase has been launched in November.

The hybrid arena to be built in Kokkola Sports Park, in the immediate vicinity of Kokkola city centre, will comprise a multi-purpose arena and a football arena. The complex will provide the whole area with a fantastic and modern framework for year-round sports and leisure activities. In addition to sports, the multi-purpose arena will be suitable for a variety of events such as fairs, conferences and concerts.
