The projects comprise a total of 178 apartments and a supermarket. The transaction is worth approximately EUR 40M.

”We are delighted to be conducting these transactions in Malmö. The sale of these rental apartments is aligned with our strategy to develop additional rental projects in Sweden,” says Joachim Hallengren, President and CEO of Bonava.

Both projects are located in Malmö’s expansive southern region, with good connections to Kastrup Airport, Copenhagen and Malmö city centre.

One housing project with 101 apartments is being sold in Hyllie and another with 77 apartments and a supermarket is being sold in Elinegård. Construction will begin on both projects in early 2017.

Bonava has also sold 49 rental apartments, contained in two apartment blocks, to Hefab. The project is in the Tollare residential area in Nacka outside of Stockholm.

”The development of well-planned, attractive rental apartments is important in our efforts to realise our vision of creating homes and happy neighbourhoods where people have the highest quality of life. The 49 rental apartments comprise an important part of the development of the Tollare district, where about 1,100 homes will be built within a few years,” says Fredrik Hemborg, Business Unit Manager, Bonava Sweden.

Tollare is an area comprising mixed forms of tenure located in close proximity to water and nature. Despite this closeness to nature, the pulse of a major city is less than ten kilometres away. Bonava has commissioned Gärahovs bygg AB to carry out the construction work.

The housing project is expected to be completed and recognised in profit in Bonava Sweden in the second quarter of 2018.
