With 204 stores across Sweden, Lidl is one of the country’s largest grocery chains. Last fiscal year, Lidl Sweden saw an increase in revenue of over 11 percent.

Kungsängen, the district where the new store will be located, has seen significant residential development over the past decade, and the population is expected to continue growing. The new store will provide around 80 parking spaces and create approximately 20 new jobs as part of its establishment.

“We are proud to be part of Lidl’s impressive growth journey. This store strengthens our collaboration and provides the people of Uppsala with even better access to affordable groceries,” says Thomas Hansen, CDO Sweden, Prisma Properties.

“We are very pleased to establish a store in such a central location. With this new store, situated along one of Uppsala’s major roads, we will make it easier for residents to do their weekly shopping while running other errands. Our goal with this establishment is to increase accessibility for our customers, whether they arrive on foot, by bike, public transport, or car,” says Christian Sjöström, Property Manager, Lidl Sweden.

Construction is planned to start in the fourth quarter of 2024, with the opening expected in the fourth quarter of 2025.
