The interest from international investors in attractive shop locations in mainly Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö has never been larger than during 2015. Above all the capital is appealing and international icons like Michael Kors, Apple and Victoria’s Secret are already established in Stockholm. The development appears to remain in the coming year as well. In the Destination Nordics report which JLL presented in the form of a well attended seminar in Stockholm, they see a variety of reasons behind the renewed interest in Sweden.

“We have a situation where the Nordic economies are considerably more stable than southern Europe for example, as well as a situation that is notoriously volatile looking east. There is a curious audience in Sweden that is commonly familiar with international brands due to frequent travels, so the companies see many advantages with a Swedish establishment” says Martin Lindgren, CEO for Retail Agency at JLL Sverige.
