The emerging logistics cluster at the Tostarp Logistics Position, with tenants operating primarily in online trade, is excellently situated adjacent to the Helsingborg East exit from the E6 motorway. Catena’s properties in the area, including several existing logistics facilities, cover a total of some 280,000 square metres of land. An additional part will now be made use of for the new construction of an 18,300 square-metre terminal intended for the handling of parcels, packages and letters. The tenant, Postnord, is signing a 15-year lease with Catena, the rental value of which amounts to slightly more than MSEK 16 (EUR 1.5M).

“The Tostarp Logistics Position’s status as a logistics hub in southern Sweden will be reinforced with the establishment of the Postnord facility. We look forward to continued good collaboration, in which we are able to contribute to Postnord’s development through our insight in online trade and smart distribution solutions from our perspective as a landlord,” says Catena’s Regional Manager for Helsingborg, Göran Jönsson.

PostNord offers communications and logistics solutions to, from and within the Nordic region, and also handles postal services to private individuals and companies in Sweden and Denmark. Each year, Postnord delivers more than 150 million packages to the 25 million inhabitants of the Nordic region, as well as to 2 million companies.

“With the new terminal, Postnord and Catena will provide conditions for the efficient handling of the growing volumes that come with changing logistics needs and goods flows,” says Annemarie Gardshol, CEO of Postnord.

Postnord is scheduled to move into the new premises in the summer of 2020, provided that a construction permit is granted before the summer of 2019. Approximately 70,000 square metres of empty space then remain for continued development at the Tostarp Logistics Position.
