The sale is taking place as a property transaction with a purchase consideration amounting to SEK 110 million. The buyer is the housing developer JM and ownership will be transferred 1 September 2020.
The Torrdockan 7 property is located by Dockplatsen, in the centre of the Dockan area, that Wihlborgs has developed alongside JM and PEAB. The property was previously scheduled for hotel development but, together with JM, Wihlborgs has since 2016 been working to acquire housing development rights instead. The new detailed development plan has just taken legal effect, and has thereby made the development of around 170 new homes at Torrdockan 7 possible.
“Wihlborgs focuses on commercial properties, so selling a residential property to a housing developer is entirely in line with our strategy. JM has, just like Wihlborgs, been driving the development of Dockan, and as such it feels natural to hand over the baton to them. The new housing units will be a fine addition to Dockan, and will help the area to continue to be an attractive and vibrant district with a good service offering,” says Ulrika Hallengren, CEO of Wihlborgs.
