The building is a historical complex of four buildings and plots where the embassy has been active since the 1940s.

The old embassy is located in the middle of central Reykjavík, a stone's throw from the cathedral and the parliament building, Alltinget. The buildings have a total area of approximately 2,000 square meters and an assessed value of just over ISK 550 million. In the sale, Croisette is primarily aimed at construction contractors and investors.

Croisette is the first international real estate consultant to establish itself in Iceland and open its office there just before Christmas, 2020. The prestigious assignment to sell the US Embassy has been obtained through a collaboration with Cushman & Wakefield in London.

"Of course, we are very proud that the US government chooses us as an advisor when the old embassy is to be sold. It clearly shows the importance of an international network and the importance of information to foreign customers to increase transparency in the Icelandic real estate market," says Styrmir Bjartur Karlsson, CEO Iceland, Croisette Real Estate Partner.

“This not only confirms that it was the right step for the Group to open operations in Iceland, but also how important it was for the Croisette brand from an international perspective. We look forward to more positions of trust of similar dignity in the near future, not just from the USA ", says Per Svensson, CEO and founder of Croisette Real Estate Partner.
