“Following a productive partnering process together with NCC, the decision to build a new sports and swim center has finally been made and we can start to construct the new, eagerly awaited facility in Arvidsjaur,” says Åsa Andersson, Director of Urban Planning, Arvidsjaur Municipality.
The project involves a three-pool swim center and a sports hall with two courts in the same building. The project has been designed in close cooperation with Arvidsjaur Municipality and other expert partners. During the course of the partnering process, a decision emerged to include a sports hall in the project together with the swim center that was originally planned.
The swim center has a 25 m fitness pool, a 10 m multifunction pool, a 25 square meter children’s pool and a jacuzzi. The floor of the multifunction pool can be raised or lowered so that it can be used for baby swim classes, water aerobics and rehabilitation. The sports hall will accommodate a 20x40 m court and a 18x36 m court as well as 250 height and width adjustable spectator seats.
“In the first phase we could develop and tailor this project fantastically thanks to a very good partnership with Arvidsjaur Municipality. We bring our experience and expertise from the many swim centers that we have constructed throughout Sweden to this building in Arvidsjaur and look forward to continuing our great teamwork with everyone involved,” says Henrik Landelius, Head of NCC Building Sweden.
The earth and groundworks for the foundation will start in spring 2023, and the project is scheduled to be completed in 2025. The transaction totaling approximately SEK 250 million will be registered among orders in the fourth quarter of 2022 in the NCC Building Sweden business area.
