One of Prisma Properties' main driving forces will be to, in close cooperation with market-leading tenants, develop purpose-built properties for discount retail at important hubs in Sweden and the other Nordic countries.

"Discount retail is the fastest growing segment within Swedish retail, and one of the least sensitive to the economic situation. We therefore see a great opportunity to now take the next step by spinning off the business in Prisma Properties and thereby be able to give tenants in these industries an even stronger offer," says Simon de Chateau, Chairman of the Board of Prisma Properties.

Prisma's current property portfolio consists of 106 properties, mainly in Sweden and Denmark, with a total lettable area of 206,000 square meters. Among the largest tenants are discount retailers such as Dollarstore, Jysk and Willys, as well as fast food chains such as Burger King, Rasta, ChopChop and Jureskog. The company has recently taken its first step into Norway by acquiring two properties with Europris as a tenant. The company has a strong balance sheet with a loan-to-value ratio below 50 percent, and, recently, the company has refinanced almost its entire loan portfolio of approximately SEK 2.5 billion.

More than 70 percent of the properties included in Prisma's portfolio have been developed over the past five years by the management team of the new company. Fredrik Mässing, who has assumed the role of CEO of Prisma Properties, has through his real estate company Mässing Properties been involved in building the portfolio since 2017.

"We are heading into a very exciting growth journey. The management team of Prisma consists of people with extensive experience from the real estate industry and the development of discount and grocery retail. Given the good demand within our segments and our strong relationships with leading tenants, we are now well positioned to take Prisma Properties to the next level," says Fredrik Mässing, CEO of Prisma Properties.

Prisma Properties has appointed Johan Nielsen as COO and Martin Lindqvist as CFO. Previously, Johan Nielsen was CEO of P&E Fastighetspartner and Martin Lindqvist was CFO at Atrium Ljungberg.
