Basemark has appointed Keith Silverang as CEO of the company, effective 1.1.2020. Silverang has served as a member of the company’s board since the spring of 2019.
Keith Silverang has built a successful executive career that included an 11-year stint as the CEO of Technopolis Plc from 2008 to 2019. He was the first non-Finn to lead a Nasdaq Helsinki listed company, and was the longest continuously-serving CEO on the exchange of the past 15 years.
“I’ve reached that point in my life when I know what I am capable of, and what my limits are, and I was in the fortunate position of being able to choose my next position. I wanted to do something completely different that combines an interesting and exciting new sector with people I really like, and the potential for massive global success. Basemark has all of those qualities, it has impressive blue chip customer base and has a unique combination of products and services business. It is an exciting foundation to build a great success story,” says Silverang, who has also made an investment in Basemark.
Basemark Chairman Tero Sarkkinen says hiring Silverang was a smart move, even though he comes from outside the automotive software sector.
“Our sales will grow from 2.7 million euros in 2018 to 8 million euros this year and we expect this kind of growth to continue, so it was essential to find a CEO who knows how to manage growth and scale up the company. Keith is one of the most talented CEOs in Finland and has a track record in productizing services and creating efficient organizations which grow profitably year after year. We are excited to have him at the helm of the company,” says Sarkkinen.
