The portal is a landmark in the center of Lillestrøm and consists of a new, modern and energy-friendly office building. The building is very centrally located with only one minute walk from the Station and the Flytoget, as well as close proximity to the Norwegian Trade Fair. By train it takes only 10 minutes to downtown Oslo and 12 minutes to Oslo Airport.

The central location is an important reason why public tenants such as Skatteetaten and Bufetat have signed long leases in the building. Other major tenants in the Portal are 3M, DNB, Skedsmo municipality, Norconsult and BDO. There is also some street dining and retail. The Scandic hotel portal is 10,000 square meters and has a total of 220 hotel rooms. Scandic has a long lease.

Lillestrøm is one of the fastest growing areas around Oslo with an average population growth of around 1.9 percent per year over the last 10 years.

“Obos is very pleased with what we have achieved with the Portal, where a new quarter of housing, hotels, trade and office workplaces has been created on a site that was previously a parking lot. We think this has strengthened Lillestrøm as a city and fills a need for jobs and housing at central hubs. Obos has a number of new development projects to be completed in the coming years and therefore found it appropriate that new owners continue the long-term ownership,” says Nils Morten Bøhler, Executive Vice President of Obos Eiendom AS.

Akershus Eiendom AS assisted in the transaction.
