"I am very much looking forward to building Alecta Fastigheter together with the employees in the Swedish real estate business. The goal is to grow in the coming years, both through acquisitions and development, in combination with active management and a large customer and sustainability focus," says Lena Boberg, incoming CEO at Alecta Fastigheter.
"In recent years, Alecta has increased the proportion of real assets in our portfolio and will continue to do so in the future. By incorporating Alecta Fastigheter, a larger platform is created for Alecta's real estate transactions, so that we can increase the scalability and at the same time continue to manage our clients' pension money for as low a fee as possible," says Hans Sterte, Head of Asset Management and Deputy CEO of Alecta.
The company is a process that takes place over a period of 18 months. After this period, Alecta Fastigheter will take back most of the property management from the external players that currently manage the properties.
Alecta Fastigheter will recruit a larger number of people and have a board of directors with both internal and external members. Axel Brändström, Head of Real Assets at Alecta will be Chairman of the Board.
