Regio has entered into a share transfer agreement regarding four properties with office and business premises in Uppsala. The total lettable area amounts to approximately 11,500 square meters, with the opportunity to develop additional building rights within the properties.
The portfolio has been acquired through two separate transactions. The Gnista 6: 3 property was acquired by Mellansvenska Logistiktransporter AB ("MLT") and took over in mid-April this year. The property is under development into a new headquarters for MLT.
The seller for other properties in the portfolio is the Uppsala-based real estate development and management company Reimnor. The property Danmarks-Säby 12: 3 was taken over by Regio in mid-March. Danmarks-Kumla 14: 3 and Gnista 6: 1, both of which are under construction, will be added later in 2020 after completion.
In connection with the acquisitions, Regio has started a collaboration with Reimnor as a local management partner according to the Regio's LAMP model. Reimnor, who becomes part owner of the portfolio, will manage and further develop the portfolio going forward.
“On Regio's part, we are pleased to expand our property portfolio in Uppsala and at the same time welcome Reimnor as a new local management partner. We are constantly looking for additional investment opportunities in our selected markets and the intention is to continue to grow the portfolio that has now been acquired," says Eric Bergström, CEO of Regio and Partner Brunswick Real Estate.
Following the acquisition, Regio's total management volume in Uppsala amounts to approximately 45,000 sqm of lettable area.
