Biomedicum won the category Best Healthcare Development.

"We are incredibly proud that Biomedicum is receiving international attention and that the building is once again praised. The goal has been to create a unique meeting point for cross-border research and collaboration. This win is proof that we have succeeded through good cooperation with KI and other parties involved," says Hayar Gohary, project director at Akademiska Hus.

Biomedicum is one of Europe's largest research labs with space for up to 1,600 researchers and other staff at KI. The building extends over eleven floors and is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to enable world-leading experimental research. Biomedicum will promote interaction, new collaborations and the exchange of experiences, ideas and techniques across borders when several scientific disciplines come together under one roof for the first time. For Akademiska Hus, it is the real estate company's single largest construction project ever, which was ready for occupancy in April 2018 - before the set time and at a lower cost than expected.
