In the heart of Malmö, Peab and Balder are developing a completely new sustainable district, Varvsstaden. 180,000 square meters of industrial land will be transformed into a living district with housing, offices and other businesses.
"It feels great to be able to offer Oatly an office location you do not see anywhere else in Malmö; central and close to water in a building that by its nature creates a unique office environment. Oatly will contribute with life and movement on the site and help us realize Varvsstaden's vision of creating a sustainable district," says Pia Andersson, CEO of Varvsstaden.
"We are growing rapidly and have grown out of our current premises and the plan for the future is to continue to grow, both globally and regionally. It feels extra fun to be able to stay in Malmö and establish our head office in premises that previously belonged to an innovative local company and carry on that legacy. But in our way. Sustainability is a guiding principle in everything we do and this also applies when we establish our offices. Being able to reuse a historic site in a sustainable way together with Varvsstaden feels fantastic," says Johan Girdo, CEO of Oatly EMEA.
Before moving into Gjuteriet, Oatly will have a temporary head office in Magasinet in Varvsstaden, from February 2021 until their permanent head office in Gjuteriet is ready for occupancy.
