Local Tapiola's Fund Acquires Two Public Use Properties in Oulu

Finland — A public property fund owned by Local Tapiola has acquired Kastelli research center property in Oulu. It´s located next to the Oulu University hospital, and at the heart of the actively developing Kontinkangas welfare campus.

The floor area, 7,000 square metres comprises of offices and laboratory facilities. Additionally, there is still significant amount of unused building rights in the plot.

The fully leased premises are occupied e.g. by Finnish Institute of Occupational Health, Finnish Institute for Welfare and Health, The municipality of Oulu, The University of Oulu, the regional hospital district and Esko Systems.

“This transaction is one example of the strong demand for good properties that are located also outside of Helsinki Metropolitan area. Transaction market is active for many different properties in several regions in Finland”, states Kari Kervinen, Senior Advisor at Newsec.

Newsec acted as private vendor´s advisor in this transaction.

Secondly, the fund acquired Oulun Oppikylä school and day care property from Hoivarakentajat Oy in Oulu.
