SBB already has a long-term collaboration with UNHCR, which is about ensuring that refugees have a roof over their heads. According to the UNHCR, even before the war in Ukraine, they are responsible for the needs of some 5.5 million refugees living in refugee camps and settlements. Own housing means protection, security, privacy, comfort and health.
"We have a war in Europe and we must all do everything we can to contribute. UNHCR does a fantastic job of helping people affected by war. SBB has already previously contributed to UNHCR and via our Norwegian JV Solon to SOS Children's Villages, but we think it is important that we continue to support the hard-hit civilian population in Ukraine in every way that we can," says Marika Dimming, Investor Relations and Head of Sustainability, Samhällsbyggnadsbolaget i Norden.
