Slated for completion in late 2017, the building will consist of 68 bright and airy compact homes featuring a small balcony, large windows and a diverse set of smart storage solutions. Each SATO StudioHome will have an area of 15.5 + 6 (sleeping loft) square metres and the homes at the pilot building will rent at €500/month.

Besides functionality, the SATO StudioHome concept also highlights the importance of communal areas. The ground floor of the building will feature a comfortable common room and laundry room for all residents while on the top floor, residents will have access to a sauna section, fireplace lounge and terrace.

Investment Manager Miikka Karjaluoto from SATO:

"I am really pleased that after the extended planning and preparation phase, we are now moving ahead into the construction phase on the first SATO StudioHome building. The interest expressed in our project and the debate it has sparked regarding the need to discover affordable housing solutions has been truly inspiring."

"The buzz generated by the SATO StudioHome has encouraged us to take the concept further also in respect of housing-related services. We are looking to include our future residents in brainstorming ideas for the optimal StudioHome lifestyle.

"Based on the interest and enquiries made, the StudioHome residents will come from a broad age spectrum, which should make for a broad range of activities in the building's communal areas."
