Gottsunda Centrum was built in 1974 and between 2009 and 2020 extensive renovations and extensions were made, today the premises cover 29,000 square meters. The 70 tenants include, among other things, shops, restaurants, libraries, health centers, dentists and more.
Hemmaplan, which was launched by Bonnier Fastigheter and Brunswick Real Estate in July 2021, invests in and develops city center properties in districts with socio-economic challenges in order to drive positive societal development. The company currently owns Rosengård Centrum together with Fastighets AB Trianon.
A formal decision on Hemmaplan's acquisition of Gottsunda Centrum will be made on 11 May 2022, with the approval of the municipal board. Access takes place on 1 July.
"We look forward to being involved in developing Gottsunda through Gottsunda Centrum, together with Uppsala Municipality, other local actors and above all people who live and work in the area. We want to be a collaborative force to strengthen Gottsunda's development, for the center to become a central meeting place with food, sports and culture in focus, and where we can create momentum for local entrepreneurs to grow," says Cecilia Safaee, CEO of Hemmaplan.
- For me, it has never been obvious to sell Gottsunda center. But we have now found a buyer who is prepared to take responsibility for Gottsunda's development in a way that is both credible and in line with our high demands. The work of making Gottsunda the heart of southern Uppsala can now continue with full force. Together with Hemmaplan, we will continue to invest in Gottsunda, says Erik Pelling (S), chairman of the municipal board, Uppsala municipality.
