PostNord has signed a new lease agreement for their head offices in the building with Arken’s owners Ursus. The property will be converted into a multi-tenant building, in which PostNord will occupy the top three floors, while the remainder will be leased to other companies.
PostNord has occupied the Arken building since its completion in 2004. Originally designed by BSK Arkitekter and built by Arcona, the spectacular and modern, open and efficient building was nominated for the Swedish newbuild of the year award for 2003. BSK is now contributing to the renovation of the building, having designed future-proof, activity-oriented office premises with an emphasis on creating safe post-corona work environments.
“This tenant adaptation is an exciting further development of an iconic property. Awarding the contract to Arcona feels both safe and self-evident, based on the project’s high knowledge and competence requirements, and on Arcona’s flexibility and pragmatism in a very challenging construction contracting environment,” says Fredrik Kumlin, Chief Investment Officer at Ursus Real Estate Management.
“It is extremely rewarding to help reshape the property we built two decades ago. We involved our strategic suppliers at an early stage and have, through the contract negotiations, been able to secure supplies with long lead-times,” says Peter Kihlman, Project Manager at Arcona.
