Slättö, its logistics platform Evolv and Budbee continue to grow in Finland as they begin construction of a sustainable last-mile logistics terminal in Tammisto, Vantaa, in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area. Renewable energy from on-site solar panels will power the terminal, and the building will be certified under LEED Silver or higher. Construction is expected to be completed in September 2023.

Tammisto is well located along the main highways connecting the cities of the greater Helsinki region as well as the Helsinki-Vantaa international airport. The terminal will support Budbee’s mission to make online shopping easier for all customers in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area.

"We entered the Finnish market three years ago with the ambition to offer more sustainable and easy to use last mile delivery services. It has been a great journey so far with millions of Finns using Budbee. With the investment in this new terminal, we get a more prominent physical footprint and show that we are here to stay," says Fredrik Nyström, Nordic General Manager at Instabee, parent company of Budbee and Instabox.

The terminal will be developed within existing unused building rights of a property acquired by Evolv in December 2021.

"The business plan we set out when we acquired the property a year ago included the development of an additional logistics building. We now proceed with that business plan together with Budbee and are very happy to expand our cooperation internationally," says Lars Axelsson, Head of Evolv and Partner at Slättö.

"With the goal to grow Slättö’s operations in Finland, we have previously acquired standing assets in the industrial segment as well as residential development projects. We are proud to now start our first logistics development, and we are actively looking at investments in other segments in Finland as well," concludes Ilkka Salminen, Country Head, Finland at Slättö.
