The capital commitment creates the conditions to be able to continue to make acquisitions and further develop the company in line with the established strategy. The company was founded in 2015 and has grown at an average of 28.4 percent per year (CAGR) during the seven-year period December 31, 2015 – December 31, 2022, calculated as the market value of the properties.
In connection with the company entering the next phase, Thomas Holm is proposed as the new CEO. Thomas is one of the company's founders and has held the role of vice president since the company was founded in 2015.
"The board considers that Thomas is the obvious candidate to take over the position of CEO. At the same time, the board respects Lennart Sten's decision to leave his position as CEO and I want to thank him on behalf of the board for the fantastic effort he has made to create the company and develop it into what it is today," says Svenska Handelsfastigheter's board chairman Arja Taavenikku.
"For me personally, it feels like a given that Thomas will take over as CEO. He is a knowledgeable businessman with extensive experience in the real estate industry who has been very involved when we together built this company to an annual turnover of over SEK 1 billion," says Lennart Sten.
"I am proud of the continued trust that our owners show the company and me. We operate in an interesting market segment and I see significant long-term growth potential. I look forward to taking the next step in our continued expansion together with all my talented colleagues. Our assessment is that there will be interesting acquisition opportunities in this market," says Thomas Holm.
Due to the proposal for a new CEO, union negotiations will be called with the intention that Thomas Holm will be appointed and take up his new role on April 1, 2023. As a result of the company taking the next step in its development, Lennart Sten will be at the company's disposal during a transition period after which he will leave the company later in the spring.
Svenska Handelsfastigheter's goal is to be a long-term and customer-oriented real estate company with a focus on the development of trading locations in Sweden. The company is active all over the country and had a property portfolio with a market value of SEK 15.4 billion at the turn of the year. Just under two-thirds of outstanding loans of approximately SEK 8.3 billion were bank loans at the turn of the year.
Svenska Handelsfastigheter is owned by the Fourth AP-fonden, Kåpan Pensioner, Länsförsäkringar Liv and the management of Svenska Handelsfastigheter.
