"Prologi's goal is to give our customers the opportunity to fully devote themselves to their business. We therefore continuously work to minimize the unnecessary and complex processes, so that the customer can focus on what is important. That Power has given us the confidence to implement yet an expansion is a clear sign that our tenants appreciate Prologis and our wide range of services," says Gunnar Gillholm, Vice President and Country Manager at Prologis Nordics.

Power's central warehouse in Skillingaryd delivers products to the entire Nordic region, regardless of whether it concerns stores, online shopping or directly to the end customer. The expansion of the existing warehouse has been planned for a long time but, after the acquisition of Mediamarkt in February this year, has been brought forward and is already starting now. It is the second time that Power has expanded its warehouse in Skillingaryd together with Prologis, most recently in 2020.

"We have been in dialogue with Prologis for a short time regarding the expansion of our central warehouse in Skillingaryd. Already in 2020, when the latest expansion was done, we looked at what the next step could be. After the acquisition of Mediamarkt earlier this year, it was natural for us to expand our surface and increase storage capacity," says Ulrika Onselius, Site manager at Power International Logistics AB in Skillingaryd.

In addition to the expanded area, the expansion will have 8 new loading gates and a new exit to streamline logistics for trucks in the area. Just like the rest of the building, the new construction also receives the environmental certification BREEAM "Very Good".

"In addition to warehouse space, we have also seen the need for more gates to help us handle larger volumes. In connection with the rebuilding, we also saw the possibility of adding another exit to make transport more efficient. Today we have two entrances but only one exit, the new exit will therefore be a welcome addition partly to have redundancy, partly to increase capacity when incoming volumes are at their highest," says Casper Odeen, development manager at Power International Logistics AB in Skillingaryd.

The construction contractor responsible for the project is YLAB Larssons Bygg AB.
