"We greatly appreciate the good partnership we have had with Oslobygg so far in the project. A year's interaction has given us confidence that this will be a great project for all parties, not least for the pupils, children and staff who will use the buildings. Good schools and kindergartens provide significant benefits for local communities, so we are really looking forward to building this. We are grateful for the confidence shown in us,” says department manager Marianne Wille Haugen with Veidekke Bygg Oslo.

The project's total area will be close to 17,500 m2. The lower secondary school will be built for eight parallel classes and up to 840 pupils, while the kindergarten will have a capacity of 140 children in its eight sections. The multipurpose hall with three playing surfaces, an activity hall for dance and stands with 250 seats will be used by the school during the day and for sports and leisure activities in the evenings and weekends.

The school facility will be unique and modern with high architectural quality, and special emphasis has been placed on creating good indoor and outdoor social meeting grounds. A number of measures have been taken to reduce the greenhouse gas footprint, not least with regard to energy consumption and choice of materials in the project.

Construction starts in January, with completion scheduled for the start of the school year in August 2027. The commission is included in Veidekke’s order book for the fourth quarter.
