"We are proud and happy that these players choose Slakthusområdet for their operations and us as their landlord. Through restaurants in innovative forms and a niche of its own with the production of confectionery and bakery products, John Mattson contributes to the area's vision of a vibrant neighborhood. We have now also taken a big step in filling the vacancies after the departure of food manufacturers Gudrun and Mårtensson," says Linda Forsberg Hansson, commercial manager at John Mattson.

"We welcome these strong brands that are completely in line with the vision for the area and the goals for the new Slakthusområdet area. Through a good mix of tenants, we contribute to enlivening the area and creating an attractive district. We now have good conditions for our upcoming urban development project in the neighborhood where we are planning for 210 homes as well as commercial premises," says Daniel Fornbrandt, business and project development manager at John Mattson.

Slakthusområdet is one of Stockholm's largest urban development projects. The former industrial area is being transformed into a lively district that will accommodate a variety of businesses in a varied and small-scale environment. Culturally historic buildings are preserved and developed and thousands of new homes, workplaces and schools, commerce, services and culture are added.

In the Slakthusområdet, John Mattson owns three land rights; Hjälpslaktaren 2, Hjälpslaktaren 7 and Hjälpslaktaren 8. The plots have an attractive location at the upcoming subway station and the park in the area, where John Mattson plans to develop new rental housing and commercial premises on the ground floors. The detailed plan work started in the spring of 2022. The detailed plan will go out for consultation in the spring of 2024 and is estimated to gain legal force in 2026 with a possible start of construction thereafter.
